Privacy Policy — Countdown App

This Privacy Policy explains how Countdown App ("the app", "we") handles information when you use it on any supported platform (Android and iOS). By using the app you agree to this policy. Where behaviour differs by platform, it is noted below.

1. Information stored on your device

Countdowns you create (titles, dates, colors, icons, reminder settings, folders) are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to us. Your premium status and app preferences (theme, onboarding) are also stored locally.

2. Information collected automatically

We use the following third-party services that may collect data on both platforms:

• Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage and event data (e.g. screens viewed, countdowns created) and basic device/app information, to understand how the app is used and improve it.
• Google AdMob — serves banner ads to free users. AdMob may access a device advertising identifier and coarse data to show and measure ads. Personalized ads for users in the EEA/UK are shown only after consent (section 4).

  Android: uses the Android Advertising ID. iOS: uses the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) only if you allow tracking via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.

• In-app purchases — processes premium upgrades. Payment is handled entirely by the platform's store; we do not receive or store your payment details.

  Android: Google Play Billing. iOS: Apple App Store In-App Purchase.

3. Notifications

If you set reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent through our servers. You can manage notification permission in your device settings on either platform.

4. Ads consent (EEA / UK)

Users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are shown a consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) before personalized ads are served, on both Android and iOS. On iOS, a separate App Tracking Transparency prompt also governs use of the IDFA. You can change your choices at any time in your device or app settings.

5. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

6. Data retention & deletion

Locally-stored data remains until you delete a countdown or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes all local data on that device. Analytics data is retained per Google's policies.

7. Your choices

• Upgrade to Premium to remove ads.
• Reset your advertising identifier (Android) or disable tracking (iOS) in device settings.
• Manage notification permissions in your device settings.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly.
